The Presbyterian Theological Centre is an educational building, being the PCNSW’s Theological Centre ‘Christ College’ located in Burwood NSW.
The development complex consists of two stages, Stage 1 being the “mixed use” college building and heritage house refurbishment and integration.
In all, the project consists of 4 buildings: 1 Educational/mixed use, 1 Heritage and 2 Residential (Stage 2 of the works).
The mixed-use building is 5 levels comprising of an Auditorium, 2 levels of conference rooms and 2 levels of library. The refurbished Heritage House is 4 storeys and has been fully integrated into the new-build. This building is used as offices and a welcome facility. The other 2 residential buildings (9 storeys and 4 storeys) complete the 42 Seniors Independent Living units (2 and 3 bedroom apartments) completed as Stage 2 of the project.
The buildings are conventionally built with a traditional reinforced concrete structure, finished externally with face brickwork, render and ‘Terraçade’ cladding system, and finished internally with structural steel and glazed atrium staircase to the main lobby area, architecturally designed floor coverings and operable walls.
This is a commercial facility for children, this project has been nominated based on the complexity of the joinery and fitout. To reach their full potential, children need to be cared for in the right environment. With a detailed brief were accuracy and precision were non negotiable, a successful project for both client and us, completed within 7 months.
